Explore, open and replace front outside corner of main house.

After supporting and shoring the main structural outside corner, we proceeded
to finish the exterior following preservation guidelines.

The roof on this project is to be red cedar shingles, per order of the local Historic District Commission.

The local Commission allowed us to substitute asphalt designer shingles in roof areas that cannot be viewed from the road.

The Sunroom Roof Area:
Roof area insulation, roof sheathing, perimeter stops, dormer, inside/corner and outside
corner flashings, trim/frame stops and related all involved with the Sunroom situation.

What happened during this process was that "boring" insects created pathways that routed water and
moisture so it is strongly suggested to use an Insect Service once or twice since the
affected and destroyed section are being replaced which is usually their source.

Our licensed & insured insect removal
subcontractor utilized non-toxic bug
spray to deal with the infestation.
Since the sun room roof area is low-slope
we consulted the Shake and Shingle
Institute manuals and settled on a "true to
the weather" application of not more than
3 1/2 inch red cedar shingles.

Sunroom roofing completed.  Views of various flashing details. ALWAYS most important.
